Here at Clevedon GC, in common with many clubs, we have a large and active Senior Section open to all member players over 55 years young.
A full schedule of competitions run through the year. Competitions are both individual and team events held on specific days and supplemented by single and pairs knock out cups both winter and summer. In addition, informal roll ups are held on either Tuesday’s or Thursday’s
The Senior section play several interclub matches during the summer months which provide the opportunity for players to enjoy other courses in the region. These games are open to all Seniors and are played in a competitive but friendly atmosphere followed by an informal meal where we can exchange views on where we could have won or lost a match.
These exchanges also offer opportunity to identify Open events at these and other clubs which players are able to enter.
Each year we also travel further afield to play the Senior Captain “away” day together with “overnighter” enabling a further chance to socialise with other club members as well as play other courses.
The role of Senior Captain, apart from coordinating the above is primarily about raising money for charitable causes. Donations this year will be passed to Ovarian Cancer Action, a charity that is helping find a cure for the cancer that currently claims a woman every two hours in the UK.
We look forward to welcoming you to our club and helping you integrate into the senior section. As Captain I look froward to playing with you on the course or seeing you in the clubhouse
Enjoy your golf !
